Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to handle complex and sensitive family law matters. This role requires expertise in areas such as child custody, divorce, prenuptial agreements, child support, and domestic violence. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clients with legal counsel, representing them in court, and drafting legal documents. This position requires strong oral advocacy, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage emotionally charged cases.

Location:

  • Seattle, WA 

Duties:

  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs and developing strategic legal plans
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and negotiations
  • Maintain and organize client files to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborate with paralegals and senior partners to streamline the litigation process
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders
  • Provide clients with monthly case updates, outlining progress and next steps
  • Lead a legal team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Participate in team meetings and mentoring sessions with senior attorneys

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active admission to the Washington State Bar
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family law in a law firm setting
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, especially in high-stress situations
  • Ability to manage emotionally sensitive family law cases, including divorce, custody, and domestic violence

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington State

Skills:

  • Expertise in family law, including divorce, child custody, and support
  • Strong oral advocacy and legal research skills
