Family Law Attorney

Phoenix office of our client seeks a family law attorney with experience. The candidate will assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Will meet with potential new clients for potential representation. Draft all types of pleadings, including initial documents, final settlement documents, motions, discovery requests/responses, and disclosure statements. Attend Resolution Management Conferences, return hearings, temporary orders hearings, final evidentiary hearings, mediation (private/court-ordered), order of protection hearings, as well as other types of hearings. Negotiate case settlement/resolution. Be present at weekly firm staffing meetings. Comply with all Arizona family law statutes, rules, and cases. Perform administrative and management functions related to caseload. Engage in marketing and networking activities to generate client leads for the firm. Should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, and child support, and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations.

The candidate should have an Undergraduate degree with a legal background and a Juris Doctor degree. Must have great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations. Strong problem-solving skills focus on case resolution versus generating additional conflict needed. The ability to build rapport with clients is required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should have strong legal research skills. Goal-oriented and a willingness to be accountable for all aspects of case preparation/management/deadlines is required. A positive attitude, team player, being self-motivated, and being open to constructive criticism are needed. Must have a willingness to own mistakes and the ability to transform those mistakes into opportunities.
