A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its expanding national litigation practice. The successful candidate will report to the head of the Litigation Practice Group and will be responsible for managing discovery, motion practice, research, and overall litigation management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work directly with both local and national clients and to receive mentorship from experienced attorneys with diverse backgrounds, including in-house, government, and AmLaw 100 experience.

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including document review, production, and organization.
  • Handle motion practice, including drafting, filing, and arguing motions in state and federal courts.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed analyses to support case strategies.
  • Oversee litigation management, including case planning, strategy development, and coordination with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Work directly with local and national clients, providing legal counsel and representation in commercial litigation matters.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and receive mentorship to enhance professional development.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth by supporting various litigation-related initiatives and client matters.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in general commercial litigation within a law firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing discovery, motion practice, and litigation strategy.
  • Proven ability to work with clients and handle complex legal issues effectively.
  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills with experience in discovery, motion practice, and case management.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for client interaction and courtroom appearances.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities efficiently.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn from and work alongside experienced attorneys.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
