Public Entity Law and Litigation Attorney

Paramus office of our client seeks a public entity law and litigation attorney with 3-7 years of relevant legal experience at a mid-tier law firm or in-house government counsel. The candidate will analyze, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, resolutions, and other documents. Will represent municipalities, housing authorities, state, regional, and local entities in a wide range of matters. Conduct research and draft memoranda to clients on an as-needed basis. Experience with the NJ Open Public Meetings Act is required. Experience with the Local Public Contracts Law is needed. Experience reviewing public procurement documents and contracts is essential. Should preferably have experience representing public entities in the State of NJ. Must be admitted to practice in New Jersey. Bar admissions in other states will be considered.

The candidate must have a law degree from an accredited school. Excellent academic credentials are needed. Familiarity with state and federal laws governing public entities is required. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, iManage platform, LexisNexis, and computer skills is essential. Must have excellent negotiating, drafting, and practice-management skills, and business judgment. Proven capability to build and maintain strong client, counterpart, and regulatory relationships are essential. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced environment, and work on a multidisciplinary team is needed. Should have the ability to identify creative, business-oriented solutions to legal and business risks is essential. Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, legal research, and communication skills are a must.
