Los Angeles office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks supervising worker's compensation attorney with 5+ years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the workers compensation practice, including evaluating the merits of a workers compensation case, providing guidance and counsel to the clients through effective communication, medical review, and negotiating, settling and litigating cases if necessary. Will assist with running the firms Workers Compensation Department operations in addition to handling own caseload. Also mentor and coach out Workers Compensation attorneys and implement staff professional development programs. Opening new files, creating litigation plans, conducting discovery, and trying cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction. Representing the interests of the claimant at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings. Supporting clients by providing them with legal advice to determine whether to go to court. Engaging in negotiations with opposing council in order to achieve maximum settlement. Ensuring clients receive funds as a result of a judgement or settlement. Taking depositions of witnesses, requesting medical records, writing petitions, motions, and responses to insurance companies. Drafting, filing and arguing appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients. Research, develop and implement workers compensation law-related compliance procedures and best practices. Remaining current with developments in the workers compensation area of law. Communicating with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel and co-counsel with professional diplomacy and discretion. Bilingual (Spanish) is strongly preferred. Experience with Case Management Software required. Should be active member of the CA State Bar and local Bar associations.

The candidate should have Four-year bachelor's degree, along with a three-year law degree from an accredited law school. Must have excellent relationship building, process improvement, and communication skills. Excellent decision-making, public speaking, and supervisory experience are highly preferred. Should be a team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates.
