Houston office of our client seeks audit and privacy attorney with 5+ years of experience. The candidate will be reporting directly to the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer. Will handle day-to-day management of personnel to allow the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer to focus on the legal and risk environment affecting the Firm globally. Acting as principal adviser to the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer and senior management team for the Firm. Updating and assisting the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer daily on areas of risk to the Firm and operations of the Office of Audit and Privacy. Coordinating the execution of strategic initiatives within the Office's jurisdiction. Participating in regular meetings with senior management of the Firm. Assessing inquiries directed to the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer, determining the proper course of action, and delegating to the appropriate individual to manage. Providing legal advice and direction to the Director of Audit with respect to internal and external audit engagements. Providing legal advice and support to the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer with respect to internal investigations within the jurisdiction of the Office of Audit and Privacy. Providing legal, strategic and operational advice to the Chief Audit and Privacy Officer with respect to the operations of the Firm's Data Privacy Office, including the administration, management, and development of the Firms Privacy Program and related projects, such as EU GDPR compliance. Identifying, developing and socializing policies, procedures and processes designed to address areas of strategic importance to the Firm, including risk management, quality assurance, and privacy. Collaborating with internal project management, business applications and information security teams on matters and projects of concern to, or within the jurisdiction of, the Office of Audit and Privacy. Acting as initial and lead point of contact for both internal and external (client and regulatory) stakeholders for audit and privacy-related inquires and escalations. Should have skills in conducting internal investigations, developing policies and procedures, and providing practical, strategic advice to clients. Must have a current admission to the Bar. Current and/or prior experience in the areas of risk management, compliance and privacy is needed.

The right candidate will also contribute to the strategic positioning of the Firm, particularly with respect to its management of risk and handling of data. Comfort with and understanding of audit techniques and methodology Strong managerial and interpersonal skills. Proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management. Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments and geographically dispersed team members. Must be effective, adaptable and action-oriented. Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
