Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Cary, NC is seeking a dedicated and client-focused Probate & Estate Planning Attorney to join its legal team. This role offers the opportunity to support individuals and families in navigating complex estate matters, from drafting comprehensive estate plans to guiding them through the probate process during emotionally challenging times. Ideal for an attorney who values client care and work-life balance, this position supports a hybrid work structure and a collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Draft and update estate planning instruments, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney

  • Provide strategic counsel on estate tax minimization and asset preservation

  • Conduct in-depth consultations to assess client needs and develop tailored planning solutions

  • Assist clients in all aspects of estate and trust administration

  • Translate complex legal information into understandable guidance

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in estate planning and probate law

  • Partner with legal and administrative staff to deliver comprehensive services

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience handling estate planning and/or probate matters

  • Strong legal drafting and client communication skills

  • Ability to manage case files independently while meeting deadlines

  • Professional demeanor with a compassionate approach to sensitive client concerns

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar (in good standing)
