Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Employment and Professional Liability Litigation Associate in Hackensack, NJ. This role offers the chance to work with seasoned litigators on complex professional liability and employment cases, providing hands-on experience and client interaction in a dynamic environment.

Duties

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and respond to written discovery.
• Prepare substantive and discovery-related motions.
• Participate in court appearances, oral arguments, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Handle employment litigation matters, including workplace disputes and administrative proceedings.
• Represent professionals, businesses, and insurers in professional liability matters.
• Communicate directly with clients, providing strategic guidance and case updates.
• Collaborate with attorneys across offices on complex litigation matters.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in New Jersey required.
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
• Experience in professional liability, employment litigation, or insurance defense preferred.
• Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar.

Skills

• Professional liability defense litigation.
• Employment litigation and counseling.
• Experience with administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies.
• Experience handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, and court appearances.
• Experience working directly with clients, insurers, and business professionals.
