Senior Toxic Tort Associate

Job Overview

A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience in asbestos or toxic tort litigation to join its hybrid team. This role offers the opportunity to lead on complex toxic tort cases, supervise junior attorneys, and engage in high-level trial preparation and client strategy. The ideal candidate brings litigation depth, strong communication skills, and an ability to manage multiple active matters with a high level of independence.

Duties

• Take and defend depositions of expert and fact witnesses

• Draft and argue complex motions, including dispositive and procedural filings

• Oversee written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests

• Lead trial preparation efforts, including exhibit and witness lists, motions in limine, and pre-trial briefings

• Maintain strong client relationships through consistent and strategic communication

• Guide junior attorneys and legal staff on case work and litigation planning

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of asbestos or toxic tort litigation experience

• Prior trial preparation and courtroom experience preferred

• Licensed to practice law in California

• Ability to manage multiple caseloads in a billable-hour environment

• Comfortable with direct client interaction and strategy development

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
