Duties:

  • Support clients in developing and implementing privacy policies and strategies.
  • Conduct privacy assessments and audits, providing actionable guidance to clients.
  • Research and stay up to date on emerging privacy and data protection regulations.
  • Assist clients with data breach responses, risk management strategies, and mitigation.
  • Work closely with internal teams and clients to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in privacy law, cybersecurity, or related transactional work.
  • In-depth knowledge of privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating privacy and data security provisions in agreements.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and manage client relationships effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic background preferred.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
  • Certification in privacy law (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, etc.) is a plus but not required.

Skills:

  • Expertise in data privacy and compliance law, particularly GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA.
  • Exceptional contract drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis skills.
  • Strong research abilities, staying ahead of changes in privacy regulations.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues in simple terms.
  • Proficient in managing multiple client projects while meeting deadlines.
