Data Privacy & Compliance Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience in data privacy and compliance law, specializing in regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA. This hybrid role provides flexibility to candidates residing in various locations, including Denver, and offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing, dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in drafting, negotiating, and advising on privacy-related matters, with a focus on compliance and data security agreements. Duties:

• Advise clients on compliance with privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA.
• Draft and negotiate privacy and data protection clauses in contracts and commercial agreements.
• Support clients in developing and implementing privacy policies and strategies.
• Conduct privacy assessments and audits, providing actionable guidance to clients.
• Research and stay up to date on emerging privacy and data protection regulations.
• Assist clients with data breach responses, risk management strategies, and mitigation.
• Work closely with internal teams and clients to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
• Communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in privacy law, cybersecurity, or related transactional work.
• In-depth knowledge of privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating privacy and data security provisions in agreements.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and manage client relationships effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic background preferred.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
• Certification in privacy law (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, etc.) is a plus but not required.
