A leading law firm in Clayton is searching for a dedicated Environmental and Tort Associate Attorney to contribute to their accomplished team. With 2-4 years of experience in toxic tort, environmental litigation, and/or environmental regulatory counseling, you have the opportunity to excel in a role focused on defending and advising clients in the waste disposal, manufacturing, and energy development sectors. This position will require you to navigate federal and state administrative forums, interpret environmental regulations, represent PRPs in cleanups, and stay up-to-date with evolving environmental issues. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of environmental laws, including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, and state-law counterparts.

 

As an Environmental and Tort Associate Attorney, you will play a crucial role in a practice group dedicated to defending and advising clients in the waste disposal, manufacturing, and energy development industries. Your responsibilities will include defending toxic tort claims, citizen suits, and administrative enforcement actions in federal, state, and administrative forums. You will also navigate complex environmental regulations and permitting under various environmental laws, collaborating with consultants and experts in cleanup efforts. Additionally, you will interpret and advise clients on regulatory developments, policy changes, and emerging environmental issues.

The ideal candidate for this position will have 2-4 years of experience in toxic tort, environmental litigation, and/or environmental regulatory counseling. A comprehensive understanding of environmental laws and regulations, including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, and state-law counterparts, is essential.
