The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience in representing healthcare providers in reimbursement disputes with commercial healthcare payers and health insurance companies. This role involves handling complex disputes and appeals and requires strong oral and written presentation skills.

Duties

  • Represent healthcare providers in reimbursement disputes with commercial healthcare payers and health insurance companies.
  • Prepare, file, and manage appeals for denied or disputed healthcare claims.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to healthcare reimbursement and claims processing.
  • Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients on reimbursement issues and claims.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices affecting healthcare reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to ensure comprehensive case management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in healthcare reimbursement disputes, appeals, or healthcare claims processing.
  • Prior in-house or governmental payer experience is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues related to healthcare reimbursement.
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC.
