Los Angeles office of an AmLaw firm seeks government associate attorney with 1-3 years of regulatory experience. The candidate will assist local, state and federal clients in navigating complex legal and public policy issues at the intersection of law, business and government. Will work on a broad range of substantive areas involving local and state government contracts, bid protests, land use, municipal/public law issues (open meetings, public records and election law), government ethics, government investigations and audits, sale to and acquisition of regulated facilities, legislative and regulatory strategy and advocacy, and public policy issues across a spectrum of industries. Appear before various boards, commissions, joint powers authorities, city councils and committees, administrative tribunals, and other government entities. Must preferably have strong complex litigation, corporate transactional and/or governmental law experience. Should have interest and enthusiasm for government, public policy, civic engagement and politics. Experience with local, state and federal government contracts is preferred. Should have 1-3 years of solid complex litigation, transactional and/or government law experience at a top law firm or city attorney's office. Interest and enthusiasm for government, public policy, civic engagement and/or politics is essential. California Bar membership in good standing is needed.

The candidate should have stellar academic credentials. Excellent writing, research and advocacy skills are essential. Effective and efficient problem-solver with the ability to work independently and proactively is essential.
