Immigration Associate Attorney

Austin office of our client seeks an immigration associate attorney with 1-5 years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for zealously representing individuals pursuing benefits or seeking relief under the Immigration and Nationality Act. Will work collaboratively with a team of paralegal and administrative staff, as well as more senior associates and partners. Provides direct representation to a large caseload of individuals and/or families in immigration matters. Legal representation may be before the Immigration Court (EOIR), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the Administrative Appeals Office, in custody matters before Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Asylum Office, State and federal courts, Department of State, agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and in credible/reasonable fear interviews and applications for affirmative relief before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Conducts thorough immigration screenings for consultees to assess for immigration relief, including an explanation of their rights and available options, benefits and risks of applying, processes, and costs if any. Coordinates for additional client services as necessary with other service providers in the area, including psychologists, non-profits, and case workers. Ensures entry of timely, accurate, and detailed case data in the online case management system. Supervises casework of legal assistants, case managers, interns, clerks, and administrative staff as needed. Represents the firm through public speaking at professional association events, CLE events, on social media channels, and/or in media interviews. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have Bar association admission/membership in good standing. Bilingual Spanish essential. Law school experience will be considered.

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Strong organizational and time-management skills; and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
