Real Estate Title Attorney

New York City office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks real estate title attorney with experience. The candidate will be the primary contact with the title company and surveyor, be able to negotiate with the title company and oversee the surveyor, and would be ultimately responsible for the final title policy and survey. Will be responsible for overseeing others doing tile/survey work and act as a resource on title/survey matters for the whole team. Should have substantial experience in reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing title insurance commitments/policies and surveys. Prior employment may include working for a title insurance company, a real estate developer or law firm where all or a substantial portion of his or her responsibilities consisted of title/survey work. Should be familiar with, or would readily know where to find, the form of title policies and endorsements in various states, including pricing and value to the client of the various endorsements. Should also have familiarity with the most recent ALTA survey standards and would know how to read a survey and be able to distinguish between what is and is not material in both reviewing title and survey.

Although more commonly thought of as a Washington, DC, firm, this New York office has many of the same practice areas. As this firm continues to grow its New York office, this is a tremendous opportunity for associates to get in on the ground floor in terms of shaping the character of the office.
