  • Conducting prior art searches and analyzing patent and scientific literature
  • Drafting patent applications and responses to office actions

  • Participating in client meetings and communications regarding patent matters


  • Previous experience with patent prosecution and office actions, preferably in a law firm setting
  • Excellent academic credentials, with an MS or Ph.D. in a relevant sciences discipline (e.g., organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry)
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Practical critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently
  • Understanding of project and process management principles


  • MS or Ph.D. in organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related field


  • Patent Agent registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.


  • Proficiency in conducting prior art searches and analyzing patent and scientific literature
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical-thinking and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently as needed
