Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Business Real Estate Group in Irvine, CA. The successful candidate will work with large statewide property management clients, providing legal advice on habitability matters, tenancy issues, and eviction processes, while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Duties

• Provide legal representation and counsel clients on various legal scenarios.
• Review documents and guide clients through eviction processes.
• Offer legal advice via phone, email, and video conferences.
• Draft legal correspondence, including letters and notices.
• Litigate unlawful detainer trials in Southern California courts.
• Draft pre-trial motions and pleadings.
• Represent the firm internally and externally.
• Complete project-based work and additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• J.D. and an active California Bar license.
• 3-5 years of civil litigation experience.
• General knowledge of civil litigation and landlord-tenant law.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Trial experience preferred.
• Experience in the rental housing industry preferred.
• Lexis/Westlaw experience preferred.
• Experience with case management and/or document management systems preferred.

Education

• Graduate degree.

Certifications

• Active California Bar license.
