Job Overview

A well-established immigration law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with specialized experience in responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and Notices of Intent to Revoke (NOIRs). The position focuses on family- and humanitarian-based immigration matters and serves as a key legal resource for both attorneys and support staff. This role is ideal for a mission-driven legal professional with strong writing and case analysis skills and a passion for helping clients navigate complex immigration challenges.

Duties

  • Review and respond to USCIS communications, including RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs

  • Provide legal guidance to non-attorney team members regarding case escalations and legal interpretation

  • Identify and monitor legal trends to enhance the effectiveness and consistency of responses

  • Review and edit legal response drafts prepared by staff attorneys and support staff

  • Deliver onboarding and continuous training for new and existing legal team members

  • Audit legal work product for accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment

  • Assist with client communication for legal questions or escalated matters

  • Support overall legal team performance in line with organizational goals and deadlines

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in family-based and humanitarian immigration law

  • Prior work with applications such as VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, Medical Deferred Action, I-130, and Adjustment of Status

  • Experience responding to RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs preferred

  • Strong knowledge of immigration policy and USCIS standards

  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and provide leadership to legal teams

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license in good standing with a U.S. state bar

Skills

  • Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills

  • High attention to detail and precision in legal documentation

  • Ability to lead, train, and mentor attorneys and non-attorney professionals

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Commitment to advocacy-focused client representation

  • Adaptability to policy changes and internal process improvements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is a plus
