A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mergers and Acquisitions Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of transactional/M&A experience, primarily focused on private company M&A, private equity, or venture capital work. The Mergers and Acquisitions Associate Attorney will play a key role in leading the initial stages of deals, negotiating term sheets, and drafting purchase agreements. This position requires strong teamwork skills, the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, and a background in business, accounting, or MBA as an additional positive.

 

Duties:

  • Lead initial stages of deals, including negotiating term sheets and drafting purchase agreements
  • Work effectively as part of a team to facilitate successful transactions
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously, ensuring timely and efficient completion
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on M&A transactions and related matters
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the transaction process
  • Assist with due diligence reviews and transaction closings as needed

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm
  • Focus on private company M&A, private equity, or venture capital work
  • J.D. degree (or equivalent) with strong academic credentials
  • Admission in good standing to the New York Bar
  • Background in business, accounting, or MBA is an additional positive

 

Education:

J.D. degree (or equivalent)

 

Certifications:

Admission in good standing to the New York Bar

  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Legal research and analytical abilities
  • Business acumen and understanding of financial concepts
