A law firm is seeking a motivated Junior Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Associate Attorney to join their team in New York City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients in the development, drafting, implementation, and administration of various compensation and benefit plans. This role also involves handling the benefits aspects of corporate transactions, advising on employment and consulting agreements, and providing expertise in areas such as ERISA Fiduciary, Affordable Care Act, IRS Correction Program, and Department of Labor correction program.

Duties:

  • Develop, draft, implement, and administer qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and other compensatory arrangements.
  • Handle the benefits aspects of mergers, acquisitions, financing, and other corporate transactions, including due diligence, reviewing transaction documentation, negotiating representations and warranties, and post-deal integration support.
  • Advise clients on negotiating and drafting employment agreements and consulting agreements.
  • Provide guidance on severance packages and releases.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of law firm experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in ERISA Fiduciary and Plan Asset work.
  • Familiarity with Affordable Care Act regulations.
  • Experience with the IRS Correction Program and Department of Labor correction program is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the state of New York.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Negotiation and contract drafting skills.
