A law firm seeks an experienced Data Privacy & Compliance Associate Attorney to join its team in Santa Ana, CA, with a hybrid work setup. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on key privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of transactional experience, a strong background in drafting and negotiating privacy agreements, and the ability to manage multiple client matters in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on compliance with data privacy regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and other applicable laws.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate privacy clauses and data security provisions in contracts and agreements.
  • Assist clients in navigating privacy risks and developing strategies for data protection compliance.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate legal deliverables.
  • Keep clients informed of changes to privacy laws and regulations, offering proactive guidance on necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and IT, to address complex privacy-related issues.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and legal memoranda, clearly communicating legal concepts to clients.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in privacy law, particularly in transactional and compliance work.
  • Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating privacy agreements and data security provisions.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
