Family Law Associate Attorney

San Jose office of our client seeks family law associate attorney with 1+ year of experience. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a client's case (with supervision) including communicating with clients and other counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing for and attending court hearings. Expertise in legal drafting a must, as is courtroom experience as second chair. Substantive knowledge concerning the statutes, regulations and rules affecting Family Law is needed. Excellent communication and presentation abilities both in the court/hearing rooms and in internal meetings, including strong written and verbal skills and the ability to effectively explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers is essential. Should have admission to practice law in the state of California. Finance background experience is required.

The candidate should possess strong research and writing skills and the ability to handle high conflict cases. Ability to handle high asset, high conflict and complex cases is essential. Ability to self-start and to work independently, but also the ability to work collaboratively with the flexibility that allows the input of others is essential. Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and strong critical thinking skills is needed. Ability to efficiently execute multiple time-sensitive projects is essential. Should have ability to synthesize complex information effectively and translate complicated issues into actionable recommendations and solutions. Should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and nurture strong relationships with associates across the organization. Outstanding reputation of professional integrity and ability to be immediately, personally credible within the firm and in the community is needed. Should have JD Degree.
