Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Bankruptcy and Restructuring Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join their practice in Vienna, VA. The candidate will engage in complex bankruptcy matters, restructuring, and fiduciary representation, working with both debtors and creditors.

Duties

  • Handle a wide range of bankruptcy matters involving consumer and business debtors, including Chapter 11 proceedings.
  • Represent clients in various bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapters 7, 11, and 13.
  • Advise and represent creditors, committees, trustees, and fiduciaries in bankruptcy court and related litigation.
  • Litigate contested matters and adversary proceedings arising in bankruptcy cases.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights.
  • Background in both debtor- and creditor-side representation.
  • Strong writing, communication, and case management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Proficiency in handling complex bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.
  • Experience with corporate restructuring and distressed asset transactions.
  • Ability to provide legal counsel to bankruptcy trustees and fiduciaries.
