Civil Litigation Defense Associate Attorney

Portland office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks civil litigation defense associate attorney with experience. The candidate will communicate and collaborate with staff, attorneys, clients, and adjusters. Will prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements. Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with guidance from partners. Travel as needed for depositions, trials, site inspections, and meetings. Familiarity with timekeeping and billing tasks to insurance clients. Keep supervising attorney apprised of activity and case development. Must be admitted to practice in Oregon. Washington license is a plus. Trial experience is a plus. Proficiency with modern technology and the ability to learn new software is required.

The candidate should have excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Enthusiasm for managing own caseload is required. Must have strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Possess strong organizational and time management skills. The ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment is required.
