McLean office of our client seeks patent counsel with 1 year of experience in intellectual property law. The candidate will be responsible for preparing U.S. patent applications and corresponding with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on behalf of the clients. Will provide opinions and recommendations on the patentability of various pending patent applications and provide litigation support under the supervision of senior attorneys. Additionally assist in developing strategies to commercially leverage clients' technologies. Study legal documents, regulations, statutes and decisions to document cases and conduct legal research by utilizing materials available in the Law Library, CD-ROM, Westlaw or Lexis. Summarize new laws and/or regulations and disseminate information on newly enacted legislation as required. Must be admitted to practice law and a member in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction. Must have 1 year of experience drafting patent applications and experience in patent litigation.
The candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree.
