New Haven office of our client seeks an associate attorney with 0-5 years of experience. The candidate will serve to bolster the Firm's in-house capabilities to respond quickly and effectively to evidentiary and legal issues at the trial level by drafting pleadings and memoranda, as well as in the researching and briefing of matters on appeal. Will be able to spot issues, frame them, and conceptualize them at both the trial and appellate levels. Also, offer opportunities to argue cases at all levels of the court system. Experience researching, drafting, and composing trial memorandums and appellate briefs will separate candidates from the pack, as well as comprehensive knowledge of filing practices and requirements is required. Must be an active member and in good standing with the Bar. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and the team. Must have a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Possess a demonstrated history of excellence in their career, as well as a passion for serving criminal defense clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed. Excellent analytical abilities are required. Must have good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work well independently but, more importantly, as part of a team is needed. Must have the ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.
