London office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital assets associate attorney with 3 years of post-qualification experience in tech transactions, data privacy, and digital projects, including working in a law firm and/or in-house environment. The candidate should have solid transactional experience and sound knowledge of data protection and privacy law and practice that extends to wider regulatory, contractual, commercial and cross-border issues. The candidate will provide both strategic guidance and detailed advice on commercial transactions and client projects. A key component of the work is to identify and address areas of regulatory and commercial risk, while enabling clients to innovate, capitalise on commercial opportunities and unlock the full value of data and digital technologies while ensuring privacy by design and by default. Assist corporate practice in carrying out due diligence as part of corporate transactions. Work directly with senior members of the team, coordinate with international colleagues and outside counsel and supervision of more junior lawyers. Any advanced legal qualifications in data protection and privacy, such as EIPA, IAPP, etc, would be desirable.

The candidate should have effective contractual analysis and drafting skills and, ideally, a good level of experience in negotiating commercial technology and data-focused agreements and advising on them and applicable data and other regulatory frameworks, as well as familiarity with drafting advice notes and privacy-related documentation. Must demonstrate excellent research and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential coupled with the ability to provide pragmatic and business-focused advice to clients, to enable them to balance commercial, compliance risks and opportunities. Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritise workload with competing demands, display good judgment and work well under pressure. Must have the ability to independently manage matters or meaningful segments of large/complex matters and to facilitate managing projects to completion.
