Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a skilled Healthcare Litigation Associate to join its growing team in Los Angeles, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with significant litigation experience to work on high-stakes healthcare matters, including False Claims Act litigation, federal and state investigations, government enforcement actions, and other complex civil disputes. The role offers the chance to collaborate with a diverse team across the healthcare, complex disputes, and government investigations & white collar defense sectors.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Represent healthcare companies in litigation, including False Claims Act cases, federal and state investigations, and government enforcement actions.

  • Manage complex civil disputes in the healthcare sector.

  • Collaborate with team members in the Healthcare, Complex Disputes, and Government Investigations & White Collar Defense practices.

  • Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, declarations, and memoranda.

  • Handle e-discovery, including managing document and information management platforms.

  • Take ownership of assigned matters and projects, ensuring timely and efficient handling.

  • Assist with compliance and regulatory matters affecting healthcare entities.

Requirements:

  • At least three years of litigation experience, ideally with a focus on healthcare litigation.

  • Experience in False Claims Act litigation, federal and state investigations, and government enforcement actions.

  • Familiarity with federal and California healthcare fraud and abuse laws, as well as laws impacting reimbursement under governmental healthcare programs.

  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to draft pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.

  • Strong project, litigation, and client management skills.

  • Proficiency with e-discovery and document management platforms.

  • Willingness to take responsibility for assigned tasks and cases.

  • Clerkship or experience with a relevant federal or state agency is preferred.

  • California Bar admission required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Strong academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the California Bar or willing to apply for admission.
