Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of litigation experience, including 5+ years in general liability defense, insurance defense, first-party property defense, and commercial litigation. This role involves client communication, strategic case preparation, legal research, and the management of discovery processes. The successful candidate will be licensed to practice law in Florida and possess strong analytical, communication, and research skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide clients with communication and advice regarding litigation risks, outcomes, legal rights, and obligations.
• Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for case presentations.
• Draft and perform legal reviews and analyses, advising on issues related to corporate law, commercial contracts, and other areas of practice.
• Organize and conduct research on legal issues involving corporate law, commercial contracts, and other relevant topics.
• Prepare for and attend mediations and hearings as required.
• Interact with clients to resolve problems related to case hearings and maintain client relationships.
• Integrate best practices and standards in handling clients and their cases.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests in a timely manner.
• Develop new client relationships and maintain existing ones.
• Meet designated minimum billable time requirements (hours/receivables).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3-10 years of litigation experience, with at least 5 years in general liability defense, insurance defense, first-party property defense, and commercial litigation.
• Licensed to practice law in Florida.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited university.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and research skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and produce accurate, high-quality work.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Westlaw, and time-billing software.

Education and Certifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar.
