Job Overview:

A Washington, D.C.-based law firm is seeking a litigation-focused Labor and Employment Associate with 3-5 years of experience handling a diverse range of employment-related legal matters. This role is suited for a driven legal professional interested in contributing to complex employment litigation while working alongside a collaborative and dynamic legal team. Traditional labor exposure is a plus, though not essential.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation involving employment discrimination, wage and hour, and workplace disputes

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery

  • Appear in court proceedings and administrative hearings

  • Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Support senior attorneys on complex litigation matters

  • Manage case files and maintain regular communication with clients

  • Collaborate with colleagues across various practice areas as needed

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of employment litigation experience at a law firm or in-house legal department

  • Familiarity with key employment statutes such as Title VII, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, and related state laws

  • Admission to the bar in the District of Columbia (or ability to waive in)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-driven environment

  • Demonstrated capability in managing multiple matters simultaneously

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing admission to the District of Columbia Bar

Skills:
