Duties

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, and third parties.
  • Produce timely deliverables, respond to correspondence, and answer phone calls efficiently.
  • Ensure quality work product that meets deadlines and expectations.
  • Foster positive relationships within the firm and with external stakeholders.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities, including computer work and virtual meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Admitted to practice in Washington, D.C. and at least one other state.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in a law firm or agency setting.

Education & Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Skills

  • Strong background in key environmental statutes and regulations (TSCA, FIFRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA, RCRA).
  • Concentrated experience in environmental litigation and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with working with agencies such as EPA, NOAA, and state environmental agencies.
  • Experience in advising on emerging environmental issues and liability exposure.
  • Ability to negotiate compliance and recovery agreements.
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of environmental operations, sediment contamination, and remediation.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, along with persuasive communication ability.
  • Good business judgment, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
