Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking an Employment Litigation & Counseling Attorney with 1 to 4 years of experience to join its San Francisco office. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work on a wide range of employment-related litigation, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters. The position also involves providing employment counseling, including policy development and wage and hour advice. Ideal candidates will have the chance to take on significant responsibility and client contact early in their careers, handling both complex litigation and counseling for national corporations.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, whistleblower claims, and wage and hour disputes.
  • Defend class, collective, and representative actions related to employment law.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel on employment policies, wage and hour laws, and workplace best practices.
  • Conduct sensitive internal investigations on high-risk employment allegations.
  • Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Manage cases independently and handle client relationships.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-profile cases and gain exposure to top-tier employment law matters.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in employment litigation and/or counseling.
  • Experience with employment law matters, particularly discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour issues.
  • Class action experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with California civil procedure is beneficial.
  • Ability to draft legal documents and provide legal counsel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance, including references and proven litigation skills.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in employment law and litigation, including defense of claims in the workplace.
  • Experience with class action litigation and wage and hour compliance.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle client interactions and manage cases effectively.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
