Job Title: Employment Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm located in Escondido, CA, is seeking a dynamic litigation associate with 2-6 years of experience to join its employment law practice. The selected candidate will play a key role in representing clients in workplace-related disputes, both in court and in arbitration, and will provide strategic advice on compliance and risk mitigation. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys eager to work in a fast-moving environment and who bring strong litigation fundamentals with an interest in labor and employment law.

Duties:

  • Manage employment-related legal disputes, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful discharge claims

  • Draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery requests

  • Prepare and argue motions in state and federal courts and arbitration forums

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Provide preventive advice and legal support to clients on workplace practices and policies

  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to develop effective litigation strategies

  • Assist, where applicable, on collective or representative action matters (including PAGA claims)

  • Participate in case evaluations, negotiations, and settlement discussions

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of civil litigation experience

  • Demonstrated interest or prior experience in labor and employment matters

  • Proficient in handling multiple litigation matters concurrently

  • Strong analytical, legal research, and writing abilities

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively

  • Admission to the California State Bar is required

  • Experience with class or representative action defense is a plus, but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills:
