Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join their team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to present and advocate on behalf of clients effectively. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex legal matters in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various complex legal issues.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and depositions.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and development.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation cases from inception through resolution.
  • Conducted and defended depositions, including preparing witnesses and drafting deposition summaries.
  • Engage in pre-trial discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document requests.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent research, writing, presentation, and advocacy skills.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.
  • Proven experience in conducting depositions and presenting in court.
  • Admission to the DC Bar or plans to be admitted.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the DC Bar or eligibility for admission.
