Chicago office of our client seeks attorney with 5-7 years of experience in immigration law, particularly in complicated family-based cases, criminal immigration, asylum, and removal defense. The candidate will be focusing on affirmative immigration benefits applications, removal defense, and federal litigation. Will be responsible for representation of clients before the USCIS, ICE, CBP, Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals, federal district courts, federal circuit courts of appeals, and Department of State. Current Bar membership in good standing for any state in the United States or the District of Columbia is needed. Second language fluency, preferably Spanish is required. Prior experience supervising staff members is needed.

Excellent writing, editing, legal analysis, and oral presentation skills is needed. Strong work ethic, ability to work as a self-starter, and ability to work independently is essential. Demonstrated commitment to social justice issues.

The law firm focuses its practice on immigration and nationality law. Deportation/Removal Defense; Criminal Court and Related Proceedings; Applications leading to lawful permanent residence (green card); WaiversDeferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA); Protection from Persecution; Torture and Other Forms of Relief from Harm; U.S. Citizenship; and Non-Immigrant Visas.
