Litigator/Attorney

Kansas City office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks litigator/attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The candidate will take ownership of a client's case, including direct contact with clients and opposing counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and handling depositions, pretrial hearings, and trials. Will perform research, and draft briefs, pleadings, and motions. Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses. Counsel associates to resolve or prevent conflicts. Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws. Prepare for and attend Trials, mediation, Arbitration, and Depositions. Background Research and Case Development. Responsible for Effective Planning and Execution of cases. Effectively Handles Negotiation and Settlement Discussions. Witness Preparation and Development. Must have significant trial experience with a background in complex litigation, personal injury, insurance bad faith consumer protection, mass tort, and/or class action litigation. Experience handling depositions, experts, and trials is required. Should have strong skills in the following areas: research, writing, courtroom presentation, the ability to communicate with clients, and the use of common technology. Must be an active member in good standing with Kansas and Missouri State Bar associations. Other states have a bonus (Illinois, California, etc.). Should have a Four-year Bachelors degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school.
