East Palo Alto office of our client seeks junior IP litigation attorney with experience. The candidate will prepare detailed internal memoranda and other reports regarding legal and technical research, and factual analysis of documents and other information. Will analyze the legal and factual background of patent-related opinions in order to apply federal patent laws and regulations to ongoing IP litigation matters in the fields of electronic engineering, telecommunications and computer software. Supervise prior art search efforts. Assist in the Markman process, including identifying key patent terms, and developing constructions, briefing and hearing presentation. Reviewing patent litigation documents. Assist with preparation of fact and expert witnesses for depositions and/or trial. Take and defend depositions relating to IP litigation. Manage experts in various aspects of IP litigation, including working with experts to prepare expert reports. Assist with reexamination requests, IPR petitions, CBM petitions, and reissue requests for submission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and European oppositions before the European Patent Office. Write opinions on, and legal interpretation of, legislation, procedures, and rulings. Prepare court documents including pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, substantive briefs, disclosures of infringement and invalidity contentions, motions in limine, motions to transfer venue, motions for summary judgment, and responses to same. Research and draft business pitch materials for potential and / or existing clients. Preparation of articles and other materials for internal and / or external dissemination regarding current developments in IP litigation and IP transactions. Analyze and assimilate data pertaining to clients' inventions in electrical engineering, particularly in the specific areas of signal processing, wireless communication, sensor networks, data networks, power networks, integrated circuits, programmable circuits, cryptographic systems, television media guidance, and software design. Assist clients in leveraging their IP assets through investment, corporate structuring, financing, and strategic and commercial transactions, including the license, sale, purchase and other transactions involving IP assets. Apply research experience, particularly in the areas of signal processing, data network communications, physical layer cooperative communication protocols, sensor networks, monitoring and control of data networks, and algorithms for equalization and interference cancelation, to evaluate patents that are either to be acquired or sold by clients. Should have a Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field or the foreign equivalent. Must also be a member of the California State Bar. Should have LL.M. degree, or foreign equivalent. Must have 1 year of experience with post-grant proceedings, including Inter Partes Review (IPR), Covered Business Method (CBM) petitions, or European oppositions before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board or the European Patent Office in the fields of electronic engineering, telecommunications, or computer software. Should have 2 years of experience directing and implementing prior art search efforts, and reviewing submissions relating to original prosecution, reexamination requests and/or reissue requests to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Must have 2 years of experience with the licensing, sale and/or purchase of IP assets and have experience supporting IP litigations. Knowledge of engineering concepts is required.

Must have a Juris Doctor degree.
