Civil Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with 1-5 years of experience. The attorney will assist more Senior Associates and Partners, handling a docket of cases primarily focused on business disputes and commercial litigation. The role involves maintaining client relationships, developing legal strategies, negotiating, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties:

• Assist Senior Associates and Partners in managing a docket of civil litigation cases.
• Depending on experience, may manage and handle own cases in areas of business disputes and commercial litigation.
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout the legal process.
• Develop legal strategies in complex disputes and provide expert advice.
• Interpret and summarize legal documents for case analysis.
• Negotiate with outside parties on legal disputes and contractual issues.
• Appear in court, arbitration, or other judicial tribunals on behalf of the firm's clients.
• Utilize knowledge of civil law principles and their practical application.
• Understand research methods, rules of evidence, and the conduct of court proceedings.
• Effectively deliver legal information in workshops, hearings, or courtrooms.
• Interpret, understand, and apply federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Write professional correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Prepare, present, and conduct cases of law, equity, and appeals effectively.
• Present statements of fact, law, and argument clearly and logically in written and oral form.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Current Texas State Bar admission.
• 1-5 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Education:
