Duties

  • Represent veterans in VA disability claims and appeals.
  • Assist clients at all levels of the VA disability process.
  • Build and maintain strong attorney-client relationships.
  • Conduct regular communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage a steady caseload of hearings with integrity and compassion.
  • Contact and evaluate prospective clients for viable cases.
  • Support department and firm goals through effective communication.
  • Maintain focus on deadlines and complete tasks timely.
  • Report case developments to a partner attorney.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • VA Accreditation preferred; must obtain post-hire if not already accredited.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience advocating for veterans or handling VA claims.
  • Experience within the veteran community is highly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • VA Accreditation preferred.
  • Must have or obtain a PIV card within 30-60 days.

Skills

  • Deep understanding of VA benefits and claims processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex medical and service records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
