Hartford office of our client seeks business and regulatory mergers and acquisitions associate with 4-7 years of experience. The candidate should have experience to assist clients in merger and acquisition transactions, including: regulated utility mergers and acquisitions, acquisitions and dispositions of power generation facilities and similar "utility-type" properties and other infrastructure assets, as well as wholesale and retail electric and gas providers and contract portfolios. Experience in the electric power and/or utility sectors is a plus. Must have experience to negotiate merger agreements, purchase and sale agreements, documents governing joint ventures and ancillary documentation; advise clients on general corporate matters and corporate governance issues; manage transactions independently; supervise, mentor, and inspire junior and mid-level associates; representative clients include regulated utilities and utility affiliates, generation owners, retail energy suppliers, transmission owners, financial institutions, infrastructure funds and private equity investors. Should have Membership to the New York Bar.

The candidate must have strong academic credentials. Excellent writer with finely honed analytical skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Ability to handle multiple matters at a rapid pace with sound judgment; ability to work effectively and efficiently with other attorneys and staff, including specialists in a variety of disciplines; strong client advisory and relationship skills with a focus on effective client service are all needed.
