Job Overview

A prominent California-based law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Associate Attorney to join its litigation practice in Irvine. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney with a strong civil litigation background who is looking to take a leading role in managing complex cases and collaborating within a dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of managing cases independently from inception through resolution.

Duties

  • Handle all phases of civil litigation including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft legal memoranda, briefs, and other court filings

  • Represent clients at depositions, mediations, hearings, and court proceedings

  • Manage litigation strategy and case timelines from pre-litigation through trial or resolution

  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods

  • Work closely with partners and clients to develop tailored litigation strategies

  • Mentor junior attorneys and oversee support staff in litigation-related tasks

  • Maintain client communication and ensure proactive counsel on ongoing legal matters

  • Stay current on litigation trends, procedural changes, and case law developments

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience

  • Strong track record of managing litigation cases independently

  • Demonstrated courtroom and deposition experience

  • Familiarity with both state and federal court procedures

  • Prior experience representing public agencies is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active member of the California State Bar (in good standing)
