Washington, D.C. office of our client seeks immigration attorney with 5+ years of experience. The candidate will be writing and editing legal briefs, motions, and memoranda on a variety of immigration issues, as well as being able to represent clients and sign legal representation documents. Will be analyzing issues and information/documents to be used for clients cases. Organizing information so that it can be produced in written form. Producing written drafts; prepare legal drafts, including complaints, motions, responses to motions, replies, affidavits/declarations, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other pleadings. Revising/rewriting drafts until the final product is achieved in a persuasive way, which demonstrates writing as an advocate; the analysis leads to a definite conclusion which leads audience to agree. Research legal issues. Assemble case materials by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence. Court appearance. Draft legal memoranda. Proposing strategies for responding to RFE'; and signing and submitting equivalent to US G-28's. Maintain a system for the timely filing of petitions, applications, and extensions. Draft applications and petitions for filing Immigration cases, and develop support letters for the clients. Coordinate filing of applications and petitions. Draft letters and affidavits, supporting applications, and petitions. Evaluate and organize documents which support applications and petitions. Research and ascertain immigrant and nonimmigrant visa alternatives. Function as a liaison between clients' petitions and attorneys. Speak to the clients as they need, clarify doubts regarding the questionnaire, and review support letters where necessary; and inform drafters supervisor regarding critical issues which need special attention, deadlines and demanding clients. Should be licensed to practice law in the United States of America and Brazil. Must be bilingual (Portuguese).

The candidate should have excellent communication, customer service, and writing skills are required, as is the ability to be a self-starter who works independently or within a team.
