A law firm seeks a highly skilled Mid-Level Real Estate Associate to join its growing team in Chicago. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-volume and complex commercial real estate transactions, representing institutional equity investors and private equity funds. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a broad range of real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures. This role demands strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Manage and support commercial real estate transactions, focusing on acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
  • Represent clients throughout all phases of the investment cycle, including advising on complex lending transactions.
  • Work with institutional equity investors and private equity real estate funds to structure and execute joint ventures and investment agreements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate contracts, leases, and related documents.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and cross-functional teams to handle complex real estate matters.
  • Provide clients with strategic guidance and legal advice regarding real estate investments and financing.
  • Conduct legal research and keep up to date with developments in real estate law to ensure client’s interests are protected.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial real estate law, with a focus on acquisitions, dispositions, and financing.
  • Strong understanding of real estate investment structures, including joint ventures.
  • Proven ability to handle sophisticated lending transactions.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and present complex legal issues.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong academic credentials and a track record of professional achievements in the legal field.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar is required.
