Atlanta office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an attorney with 3+ years of experience in semiconductor, circuit, and layout design experience; telecommunications experience; and working with overseas inventors. The candidate will support the Electrical Practice Area. Will prepare and draft legal documents, legal briefs, and opinions, assist with intellectual property infringement and/or invalidity opinions, and assist with litigation and other contested matters. Perform necessary legal research to address client needs. Review and provide advice regarding patent ownership, agreements and other legal documents on behalf of clients. Prepare strategy for client patent portfolios, including directing strategy for and preparing documents including patent application specifications, claims, and amendments/responses to the United States Patent and Trade Office (USPTO) with regard to procedural and substantive matters. Prepare Appeal Briefs for patent applications before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board; conduct oral hearings as needed before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Participate in and making appearances in court proceedings in state and federal court. Communicate clearly and regularly with clients and the USPTO regarding the status of work in progress. Perform client development activities, including marketing, legal publications, and the like; maintain license requirements, including attendance at Continuing Legal Education; and attend client meetings and advise as necessary. Should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and Bachelor's Degree, or a foreign equivalent degree, in Electrical Engineering, active license to practice law in state of Georgia, and registration (or limited recognition status) with the United State Patent and Trademark Office.
