A law firm based in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a Labor and Employment Attorney with 2-6 years of solid litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, exceptional writing skills, and a proactive mindset. This role involves handling all phases of labor and employment litigation, crafting persuasive legal documents, and engaging in law and motion practice. The attorney will also provide day-to-day legal counsel to a diverse range of private and public sector clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of labor and employment litigation, including pretrial, trial, and post-trial activities.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Engage in law and motion practice, including preparing and arguing motions.
  • Conduct depositions, pretrial preparation, and trial work.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to both private and public sector clients on labor and employment issues.
  • Handle complex legal issues and client interactions with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Stay updated on labor and employment laws, regulations, and case law developments.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement effective legal strategies.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of solid litigation experience; labor and employment experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in handling all phases of litigation, including drafting legal documents and engaging in law and motion practice.
  • Strong academic record with a demonstrated ability to manage complex legal issues.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to handle intricate client interactions and legal challenges.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Expertise in labor and employment litigation and related legal matters.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and client interactions effectively.
  • Experience with depositions, pretrial preparation, and trial work.
