Life Sciences Intellectual Property Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Life Sciences Intellectual Property Attorney to manage a range of complex legal matters with a focus on life sciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intellectual property law, with significant experience in handling life sciences-related cases. This role requires a combination of legal expertise, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.

Duties:

• Simultaneously handle high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters from inception to conclusion.
• Provide expert legal advice and representation in intellectual property matters, particularly in the life sciences sector.
• Manage business development efforts, both individually and as part of a team.
• Produce high-quality legal work and meet billing requirements to ensure excellent client service.
• Comply with the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and maintain productivity.
• Communicate effectively with clients and attorneys to advance legal strategies and resolve issues.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in life sciences and intellectual property law.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Ph.D. or Master’s Degree in a Life Sciences discipline preferred.
• Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Licensed to practice law in good standing in Delaware (DE).
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or during clerkship.
• 6+ years of experience at a law firm preferred.
• Expertise in immunology, genetics, molecular biology, and/or pharmaceuticals is highly preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in a Life Sciences discipline preferred.

Certifications:

• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
• Licensed to practice law in Delaware.
