Fort Myers office of our client seeks an immigration attorney with 2 years of experience practicing immigration law, specifically before EOIR. The candidate will represent clients in deportation removal proceedings (this will require weekly trips to the Immigration Court and the Krome and BTC facility in Miami, FL). Represent clients in family-based petitions, including- adjustment of status, I-130 family petition, consular processing, and citizenship applications. Advise clients and prepare applications for citizenship, permanent residence, asylum, and employment authorization documents. Draft motions, waivers, applications, requests for evidence, and appeals to USCIS, EOIR, and BIA. Will answer legal questions from clients and Paralegals and Legal Assistants. Communicate with and set case priorities for Paralegals and Legal Assistants. Manage caseloads and communicate frequently with the Managing Attorney regarding case priorities and deadlines. Conduct legal analysis of client documents and case histories. Conduct legal research and stay up to date on best practices with EOIR and USCIS. Thoroughly review Paralegal and Legal Assistant work products and provide feedback. Must be Licensed to practice before EOIR or ability to become licensed to practice before EOIR. Represent clients in deportation removal proceedings (this will require weekly trips to the Immigration Court and the Chrome facility in Miami, FL). Represent clients in family-based petitions, including adjustment of status, I-130 family petitions, consular processing, and citizenship applications. Advise clients and prepare applications for citizenship, permanent residence, asylum, and employment authorization documents. Draft motions, waivers, applications, requests for evidence, and appeals to USCIS, EOIR, and BIA. Proficiency with Google Calendar, Clio, and Docketwise is preferred.
The candidate should have a strong work ethic and the ability to take the initiative and stay two steps ahead of a case. Must have excellent attention to detail and can complete tasks with minimal handholding. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish needed. Strong organizational skills to manage caseload needed. Must have Juris Doctor and be barred in any state in good standing. Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish communication skills are needed. Must have strong organizational and time management skills. Should have good interpersonal skills. Efficient and independent worker who can independently manage caseloads needed. A proactive, disciplined, and strong work ethic is required.
