Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1–4 years of experience to join its Estate Planning Practice Group. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with individuals, businesses, and charitable organizations, delivering sophisticated legal guidance in estate planning, trust administration, and wealth transfer strategies. The position involves high-level client interaction and collaborative work on complex legal matters related to tax, succession planning, and charitable giving.

Location:

  • Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Duties:

  • Draft complex estate plans and succession planning documents for high-net-worth individuals

  • Provide legal counsel on income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax matters

  • Handle probate proceedings for both taxable and non-taxable estates

  • Prepare and file Federal gift and estate tax returns

  • Develop charitable giving strategies and draft related documentation

  • Advise on tax-exempt organization planning

  • Support trust administration and long-term wealth management solutions

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments and jurisdictions as needed

Requirements:

  • 1–4 years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, and related tax planning

  • Demonstrated knowledge of estate and gift tax regulations and strategies

  • Ability to manage complex client matters independently and efficiently

  • Strong client-facing skills and professional judgment

  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Eligibility for timely Bar admission aligned with office location (required for employment)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing

  • Admission to the Bar in the hiring office’s jurisdiction (or ability to obtain timely admission)

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in legal work
