Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience

San Francisco office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate attorney, preferably with 3-6 years of proven legal experience advising asset managers and institutional investors on matters that cover a wide range of alternative asset classes. The candidate will assist in the representation of asset managers and other institutional investors in connection with a variety of transactions, including fund recapitalizations and other secondary transaction processes, joint ventures, co-investments, and primary investments in private funds. Advise hedge funds and other private funds and their sponsors on fund formation and legal and risk management solutions. Must have proven exposure to the drafting and negotiating of investment documents and fund governing documents on behalf of large institutional investors. Those with a combination of private funds and corporate transactional work are encouraged to apply. Must have admission to the CA Bar and be in good standing. Candidates who are able to quickly obtain admission either on motion or reciprocity to CA Bar will be considered. This is a partnership track position.

The candidate must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Should have strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work independently at times or with a team of attorneys to work on solutions for clients. Should also be experienced in effectively communicating verbally and in writing and be able to adapt when time-sensitive situations arise.
