Bloomfield Hills office of our client, a Chambers ranked law firm, is actively seeking associates to join our Estate and Succession Planning and Corporate Group. The candidate will perform the general duties of an associate attorney including creating legal documents and managing and advising clients on legal transactions in the corporate and/or real estate practice areas. Will interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses in the corporate and/or real estate specialties of law. Prepare regulatory filings and governance documents, such as bylaws and capitalization plans. Manage new and existing client relationships. Must have 3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney. Experience in drafting business documents such as buy-sell agreements, mergers and acquisition agreements, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, non-compete and employment agreements, and/or real estate documents such as purchase agreements, commercial leases, collateral documents, and operating agreements is essential. Experience in reviewing title and survey for real estate transactions is needed. Experience in corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; partnerships, LLCs and joint ventures for corporate transactions are essential. Tax knowledge is a plus. Must be admitted to a State Bar in the United States (preferably Michigan). Should have a portable book of business.

The candidate should have organizational and project management skills. Excellent research and writing skills is essential. Must be proficient in the use of on-line legal research services and legal resources available on the internet. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) is essential. Must have sound and independent judgment. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be a graduate of an accredited law school.
